The name first appeared in 2015 in a scientific paper from Almeida, N., Vital, H., and Gomes, M.: "Morphology of submarine canyons along the continental margin of the Potiguar Basin, NE Brazil". Minimum depth (m): 280. Maximum depth (m): 1330. Total relief (m): 1050. Dimension: 2.4 km to 3.4 km width x 14 km long
