Notes GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery: Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 2002. History: Named from the nearby Ogami Island, which is located to the north of Miyako Island, the largest island of the Nansei-shoto Islands (also known as Ryukyu Islands).
