Notes Additional information (en): This feature has a conical and distorded shape. The single position is that of the shallowest point. Minimum depth (m): 1173. Maximum depth (m): 5544. Total relief (m): 4371. Dimension/size: 155 km × 100 km.

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 1999. History: Named after Dr. Hisakatsu Yabe (1878-1969), a Japanese geologist and paleontologist. He made significant contributions to the early period of geological studies in Japan. His work included the description of ammonites (he discovered the Nipponites Misrabilis Yabe); the geological study of the Japanese archipelago; and the description of coral reefs. He also published a paper on the geomorphology of the seafloor around Japan.
