Discovered by the BelgAE, 1897-99, under Gerlache, and named after Monsieur Houzeau de Lehage , a supporter of the expedition. Discovered by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition, 1897-1899, under Adrien de Gerlache, and named for Houzeau de Lahaie , President of the Royal Belgian Geographical Society at the time of departure of the expedition. The French Antarctic Eexpedition under Charcot, 1903-1905, charted the point, substantially modifying its earlier cartographic representation. In the SCAR Gazetteer the name Lahaie is misspelled as Lehaie. |

Belgica information (fr): Cap sud-ouest de la péninsule Hulot, île Brabant, dans l’archipel Palmer. Découvert par l’expédition belge en Antarctique de 1897-1899 sous le commandement d’Adrien de Gerlache et baptisé en l’honneur de M. Houzeau de Lahaie, président de la Société royale belge de géographie à la date du départ de l’expédition. L’expédition française en Antarctique (1903-1905) de Charcot cartographia le cap et modifia sensiblement sa précédente representation cartographique. Le nom Lahaie est mal orthographié en Lehaie dans le SCAR Gazetteer. |

Belgica information (nl): De zuidwestpunt van het schiereiland Hulot op Brabant Eiland in de Palmer Archipel. De Belgische Antarctica expeditie (1897-1899) onder leiding van Adrien de Gerlache ontdekte de kaap en noemde hem naar Houzeau de Lahaie, voorzitter van de Société Royale Belge de Géographie toen de expeditie vertrok. De Franse Zuidpoolexpeditie (1903-1905) onder leiding van Charcot, bracht de kaap in kaart op een manier die grondig van de eerste cartografische voorstelling verschilde. De naam Lahaie wordt in de SCAR Gazetteer fout gespeld als ‘Lehaie’. |
