GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 1984. History: Named from the nearby Boso Peninsula, near Tokyo, Japan, as this feature is closely located to its southeast.    
Additional information (en): This canyon is one of the many submarine channels that drain into the Sagami Trough as tributary channels. The easternmost end of the canyon flows in Katsuura Basin. Multibeam surveys were conducted by Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo" in Nov. 2001, Feb. 20
