Origin of name: Named after Leonid Petrovich Nasyr' (1924-2003), a Russian hydrographer who served in hydrographic subdivisions of the Pacific Fleet. He contributed to the complex oceanographic study of the Far East seas, including Kuril'skiye Ostrova. He was involved in the establishment and organization of the chart production at the Pacific Fleet. |
