Additional information (en): Feature description: The southernmost of three western tributaries of Bounty Channel, approximately 150km southeast of Dunedin. History/Origin/Meaning: Named in association with the Bounty Islands, which Lieutenant William Bligh named after his ship HMS Bounty.

Additional information (en): Adopted from NZGB Gazetteer. This feature is the southernmost of three W tributaries of Bounty Channel, approximately 150 km offshore from the SE coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The name first appeared on Oceanic Bathymetry Series (OBS) chart 'Bounty' in 1971. Minimum depth (m): 1460. Maximum depth (m): 2090. Total relief (m): 630. Dimension/size: 214 km long.
