History: Named from the resemblance of this feature to a Roman amphitheatre viewed from above, such as the Colosseum in Rome, Italy, due to the distinct flat top that features a central crater.    
Additional information (en): The feature has a circular shape and an average steepness of 19°. It includes at its top a rounded caldera/crater of approx. 1400 m in diameter and 200 m deep. Minimum depth (m): 4198. Maximum depth (m): 5220. Total relief (m): 1022. Dimension: 8400 m (North/South).
