Notes GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): History: Named in association with Wilson Piedmont Glacier, which the British Antarctic Expedition (1910-1913) named after Dr Edward A Wilson (1872-1912), surgeon and artist with Scott's first expedition, and chief of the scientific staff with the second. Wilson lost his life on the way back from the South Pole with Scott.

Additional information (en): This feature is located in McMurdo Sound, southeast of Cape Roberts, Antarctica. The name was recorded in a scientific journal in 1991 and first appeared on NIWA Misc chart 'McMurdo Sound' in 1985. Minimum depth (m): 450. Maximum depth (m): 650. Total relief (m): 200.
