Notes GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Brazilian survey vessel "Sirius". Year of discovery: 2011. History: Areia Branca is the name of a nearby coastal city and also that of a structural fault which is located at the head of this feature. Areia Branca is the Portuguese for White Sand.

Minimum depth (m): 163. Maximum depth (m): 1383. Total relief (m): 1220. Dimension: 1.6 km width x 20 km long
