Notes GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 1997. History: Named after the Japanese novelist and poet Koyo Ozaki (1868-1903), during the Meiji period of Japan. Koyo is the first name as, at that time, it was common and popular for Japanese writers to be called by their first names. This feature is associated with the nearby Great Writers Seamount Province.

Additional information (en): This feature has an elongated shape and a steepness of ~ 13 %. The single position is that of the summit. Most of the Japanese writers relevant to the Great Writers Seamount Province were active in late 1800's to early 1900's. Minimum depth (m): 4347. Maximum depth (m): 5664. Total relief (m): 1317. Dimension: 20 km × 20 km
