History: Named from the Brazilian Frigate ""Constituição"" (F42) that participated in the search and recovery mission for the wreckage of the Air France Flight 447 in 2009, near the São Pedro and São Paulo Archipelago. The Brazilian Navy mobilized more than 1100 people as part of the search and recovery effort. The recovered bodies, from a wide area of the ocean, were transported by the Frigate ""Constituição"" to the island of Fernando de Noronha and thereafter by air to the continent." |
