Additional information (en): This feature has a nearly conical shape. It is subducting into the northern most part of theMariana Trench. The term "Tomodachi" also refers to the "Operation Tomodachi" that the US Government developed in the tsunami-devastated area in the northern Honshu Island, Japan, after the Great Tohoku Earthquake in March 11, 2011. This operation helped saving many lives in the area. Minimum depth (m): 4850. Maximum depth (m): 7695. Total relief (m): 2845. Dimension/size: 34 km × 29 km. |
