These are Bangu (plank drum), Zhangu (war drum), Huapengu (flowerpot drum), Langzhanggu (wolf drum), Shugu (Story-telling drum), Tanggu (Tang drum) and Paigu (group drum). Minimum depth (m): 3596. GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Chinese research vessel “Chen Jingrun Hao”. Year of discovery: 2019. History: Named from its shape as this feature ressembles a Bangu (Plank Drum, in Chinese), a small singlesided drum, suspended on a wooden frame in performance. It often plays a conducting or leading role in accompaniment or ensemble. |
