Additional information (en): This feature has an oval shape. Several undersea features in this area have been named from different drums, the traditional Chinese musicalinstruments. These are Bangu (plank drum), Zhangu (war drum), Huapengu (flowerpot drum), Langzhanggu (wolfdrum), Shugu (Story-telling drum), Tanggu (Tang drum) and Paigu (group drum). Minimum depth (m): 3506. Maximum depth (m): 4436. Total relief (m): 930. Dimension/size: 8.3 km × 4.8 km. |

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Chinese research vessel “Chen Jingrun Hao”. Year of discovery: 2019. History: Named from its shape as this feature ressembles a Shugu (Story-telling drum, in Chinese). It is leather-covered on both sides, with a short drum body and sonorous sound. It is suitable for traditional opera performance and drum accompaniment. |
