Additional information (en): This feature has an irregular shape. A group of undersea features in this area have been named after different drums, the traditional Chinese musical instruments. They are Bangu (plank drum), Zhangu (war drum), Huapengu (flowerpot drum), Langzhanggu (wolf drum), Shugu (Story-telling drum), Tanggu (Tang drum) and Paigu (group drum). Minimum depth (m): 3240. Maximum depth (m): 4231. Total relief (m): 811. Dimension/size: 16 km × 10 km. |

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Chinese research vessel “Chen Jingrun Hao”. Year of discovery: 2019. History: Named from the Group drum, "Paigu" in Chinese, a new type of drum which appeared in early 1960s. It was remade by the China Central Broadcasting Folk Orchestra based on Tang drum and waist drum commonly used by the folk. |
