Additional information (en): This feature has a flat and nearly oval shape. Emas Reef is a historic name and was a well-known navigational danger during World War II. Also known as Meinderts Droogte in the book: "Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships", Vol III, 1968. Meinderts means "Strong in strenght" and Droogte means “Draught”, in Dutch language. Name adopted from the Indonesian Gazetteer. Minimum depth (m): 1. Maximum depth (m): 115. Total relief (m): 114. Dimension/size: 3.6 km x 2.7 km. |
