Notes Additional information (en): This feature has an elongated and irregular shape. Several undersea features nearby the Ninety East Ridge have been named after Chinese teas, which symbolize the friendly trade relations between China and Indian Ocean countries. History: Named from the Yinsuo, a kind of green tea produced in the south Shaanxi Province of China. The Indian Ocean was one of the major sea routes for transportation, trade and cultural interaction between ancient China and other countries. China shipped tea, ceramics and silk to countries along the Indian Ocean and extended to Europe through sea trade.
