Additional information (en): This is a large, flat feature on the lower continental slope, ranging from 50 km to 150 km east of the NE coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The name first appeared on Oceanic Bathymetry Series (OBS) chart 'Cook' in 1968.According to the GEBCO terminology, this feature may appear as a Terrace. However, it is kept as Plain in the Gazetteer as a long term name in common usage. Minimum depth (m): 2250. Maximum depth (m): 2650. Total relief (m): 400. Dimension/size: 190 km x 90 km.    
GEBCO: associated meeting, proposer and year of proposal (en): Associated meeting: SCUFN-29. Proposer: New Zealand Geographic Board (NZGB). History: 2016.    
GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): History: Named in association with Raukumara (locality) and Raukumara Range on the adjacent New Zealand mainland.Lit. "rau": leaf; "kumara": sweet potato. There is a macron on the 2nd "u".
